Testimony of Leaving Islam
I am a Syed (descendant of Muhammad) by birth belonging to a staunchly Muslim family. Many among the family have learned Quran by heart and almost all perform Hajj once at the least in their life-time. A little partial to wines and whiskey, not performing religious duties and having views that directly challenged the teachings of Islam I have always been despised by the family.
My interest in history played a considerable part to disown Islam. I have noted that right after his escape to Yathrib, Muhammad had started to show his true colors. Attacks on trade convoys to loot and plunder, assassination of renowned poets and intellectuals of the time who questioned validity of Islam and commandments of Muhammad (some of them had been ordered to be killed in most treacherous and cruel manner), wars with neighboring tribes to capture fertile lands and enslavement of their women for sex had become a routine affair. His sycophants took fullest advantage of the liberty allowed by Muhammad to them. Worst heinous crimes against opponents were committed after the emigration of Muhammad from Makkah. The saddest part is that Muslim scholars and Pundits eulogized the leading roles of Muhammad and his cronies carrying out mass murders, rapes and pillage.
Quran, I found to be a text Muhammad recited to others as Holy revelations in justification of his abnormal psyche to torture, kill, rape and loot. One third of Quran affirms his insatiable lust for women, second one third of it recommends mandatory death for all non-believers, confiscation of their property and the last one third is only gibberish which Islamic scholars miserably fail to interpret with logic and reason.
Expression of my views in a country where fundamentalism rules was not easy. Firstly, I was excommunicated by the family and friends, then lost my lucrative employment and death always looms over my head. However, all the setbacks have made me firmer in my belief that Islam is not a religion of peace as claimed by Muslims. In my opinion, anyone who truly believes in Quran and Sunnah is a fundamentalist.
