Egyptian Shaykh Demands Punishment for Deputy Prime Minister for Insulting Allah
From WikiIslam, the online resource on Islam
Islamic preacher Shaykh Muhammad Hassan criticized the comments of Dr. Yahya al-Jamal, Deputy Prime Minister of Egypt, in which he offended the divine. He also demanded that the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces punish him.
He stressed that al-Jamal's comments were extremely grave and dangerous, and such words should never be spoken by a Muslim at this time or at any time. (He said) it is absolutely inappropriate to be impolite with the Almighty. Muslims must choose their words carefully when they speak of the Almighty, for that is respecting his signs. Almighty Allah said: "whoever respects the signs of Allah, this surely is (the outcome) of the piety of hearts" [Qur'an 22:32].
Al-Jamal had said in sarcasm: "If our Lord were entered in a survey, 70% would praise our Lord," then he went on to laugh. [...]Shaykh Hassan Demands Punishment for al-Jamal for Treating Lightly the Divine
