My Testimony of Leaving Islam

I left Islam because it just didn't make any sense to me and because whenever I questioned it, I got the same responses; either convoluted religious speeches that didn't answer my questions at all, or I was basically told that it was wrong to ask such questions. That made me aware of the fact that whenever Muslims are confronted by questions that challenge Islam, instead of thinking about what this means they prefer to silence the questioner. It's like a game of make-believe and the person who interrupts the fantasy of Islam is treated like a troublemaker or an outcast. If Islam was really true, it would have answers. It would not need to forbid the questions. It makes people like sheep. If there is a god who wants us to be like stupid sheep, why do we worship him?

Anyway, I don't see any benefit in Islam at all. All those rituals - it's like a cult, intended to brainwash people. These days I think of Muslims as people with a sort of communal obsessive-compulsive disorder. Everything is so ritualized, so many stupid little rulings about what you can wear, how you must behave, how to wash, how long to grow your beard. No god worth calling god could possibly care about such things! I mean, he's supposed to have created the universe out of nothing and then he gets upset if someone shaves their beard or plucks their eyebrows? Is he mad? Why does he need to be worshipped? Is he an egomaniac? None of it makes sense.
