Testimony of Leaving Islam
I was born in Pakistan, a strict Muslim country (as most know), but fortunately my parents aren't some crazy Muslims, but very good, modest and moderate people. We came to Australia to escape the shit hole country and get better opportunities. I have been taught Islam moderately and use to be quite religious.
About 6 months however, I started to debate about god with my cousin and friend, who are both in University, both atheist and both really smart. They proved me wrong most of the time (in the debates/arguments), but I still was faithful. Since then, I have started researching Christianity and Atheism and other view-points (i.e. not being narrow-minded anymore), and eventually came to realize Islam is a baloney religion, maintained by fear and the sword, and that it really confines its believers.
About 3 months ago I became an strict Agnostic, and to this day I continue researching ALL viewpoints; from Atheist & Agnostic to Christian and Muslim (lol, this helps me lose faith even more, since realize the truth more as I research more). I came to this website as part of my research and I have decided to became a member, etc.
Just last week my parents found out that I became an Agnostic, and as I said, they are good people, and said they were fine with my decision. Though I left Islam, morally speaking, I just left the bad things, and retain the good qualities.
